Team work is commonly regarded as a form of work organization that can have positive effects for both the organization and its employees. However, success does not come automatically to work teams. In reality, these teams often find it difficult to reach and maintain effectiveness. Based on this observation, this article highlights, on the one hand, steps that can be taken by team leaders and members to facilitate effectiveness within the team and, on the other hand, conduct by team leaders and members that can hinder effectiveness.
